STORY
The idea began to shape up in a resturant in bangalore when my friend and I started sharing concerns around our own unhealthy lifestyle by eating junk food and no workout. How we commited to monthly memberships of Gyms, Yoga centres in the past but lost motivation to go on frequent basis. We thought of doing something about it, not just to benefit ourselves but to take up a challenge to solve this problem. Countless nights spent over ideas, the value, working towards the vision as we got like-minded people onboard who had a knack for hard work and an eagerness to create, Healthmonk team was formed. A principle that always keeps up and running is Be Bold and take calculated risks. The idea is to research, take informed decisions. When in doubt, Build a Hypothesis with a strong belief to support, launch and test. Reiterate. Thats Healthmonk.
RESEARCH
The research involved activities like user interviews, surveys, market study, competitive analysis with an aim to identify and understand the needs/painpoints of a vast range of people like IT professionals, housewifes, millenials, mid aged health concerned to active health and fitness enthusiasts. By understanding the various needs, their motivations and psyche, We selected our target segment on the basis of business rational to achieve a profitable sustainable business and to problem solve for important needs that would make a positive impact to make lifes better.

Rahul is a student at a famous college at in Bangalore. He loves to look good and maintain his fitness levels. However, with increasing popularity comes increasing spends but pocket money isn't increasing anytime soon. He did take membership at fitness centers on a couple of occasions but has realized that he doesn't want to spend the best times of his life at a gym. For him, working out twice a week is the optimum amount of work out. He considers his membership fees wasted during the days he doesn't go to the gym. He is looking for a fun way to stay fit, at affordable prices.

Abhishek is an operations head in an E-com Unicorn. His job involves a lot of intra and inter-city travel. He and his wife are both concerned about his health considering the long work hours and travel. Abhishek also believe that being fitter would help him be more productive. He wants to join a fitness center but he wants accessibility near his Head Office or the locations he travels to, so that he can walk into a fitness center whenever he finds time.

NEED
People pay monthly/yearly fees to gyms and fail to show up which leads them to stop buying fitness memberships.
INTEREST
There is a lot of interest in people in activities that are more fun than fitness pain inducing exercises.
TRIGGER
People exercise to look and feel good, some start taking care of their fitness to meet a goal like an approaching wedding.

People stop keeping up their health as it demands constant motivation, is time consuming, and becomes boring.
PERCEPTION
Few people showed interest in dieticians as they think there is ample information available for health online.

People showed a growing interest in Yoga , Dance, Zumba & Swimming as their favorites.
NEED
Most of the people want to have a decent fitness level at least cost of their time and money.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
People need a constant reason to take care of their health as it a perception problem. For most of them, Going to a Gym, Eating healthy and not eating that burger because it has extra calories, all of these things are compromises and puts one out of their comfort zones.
We need to change a perception through knowledge, motivation and give them solutions that they feel are simple to introduce in their daily lifestyle without affecting them drastically that they give up on them.
SOLUTION
Build a Fitness App that let users book session/s from a variety of activities like Gym, Zumba, Dance, Yoga, Kickboxing listed on the App by our partnered fitness centres. For sports enthusiasts, The app also lists sports activities like swimming, table tennis, swimming and badminton provided by partered sports academies. Users can pre-book their slots on per hour basis or can purchase weekly passes. A session starts just from Rs. 99/- , users wouln't need to pay hefty amount in memberships.
Also, healthmonk.org and facebook page were created with a purpose of building awareness of health and fitness to motivate people. Building a community and drive engagement to give knowledge to people and take action are the primary goals.
FLOW


The UX is pretty simple and user friendly. The focus was to make users feel at ease, understand the underlying brand values. The flow was designed in a way that design won't come in the way for user to complete their task rather would always remain hidden yet intuitive.

KEY FEATURES
Onboarding
Simple and Fast onboarding experience lets users go through the steps with ease without percieving it as a tedious task. We found neglegible hit rates on Skip button inspite of being there.

Booking experience
The App displays all the fitness activities on the homepage. After that activity selection, the centers are shown sorted according to user's location. Users can then select a desired date and a time to book a slot.

Payments
Users can book single or multiple bookings in one session and apply coupon codes sent by us through text messages to avail maximum benefit. User can pay via various modes of payment. After booking, Details of the booking is sent having important information like address, a feature to navigate via maps.
